Job Details

Our Metro team have a brand-new role for a Contract Manager to ensure that our existing contracts are current, fit for purpose and are compliant with the Public Service Contract (PSC) and the Project Alliance Agreement (PAA).
In this integral role, you will be actively involved in projects such as Metro extensions in the Midlands, Birmingham East side, Buy Before You Board, and line renewals and enhancements. You will ensure effective performance management by monitoring and reporting efficiency and driving continuous improvement. Additionally, you will collate and analyse data to inform contract negotiations and benchmark our current model against other local authorities, identifying areas for improvement. To succeed in this role, you must have a keen eye for detail, a methodical approach, and a strong customer focus to ensure that all parties, including Midland Metro Limited and Midlands Metro Alliance, are meeting their obligations and performance metrics under the stated agreements. What you will be doing.
  • Ensure performance reports are completed in a timely manner.
  • Lead, manage and influence at all levels within WMCA and MML to ensure obligations, processes and deliverables are being met.
  • Manage the contract change processes.
  • Carry out contract negotiations with the MMA and MML
  • Act as the point of contact for contract administration purposes
  • Analyse and interpret complex datasets relating to performance.
  • Ensure any risks around the contracts are understood and articulated to the senior team.
  • Ensure live contracts remain current with best practice and continual improvement.
What’s essential.
  • Previous experience of managing contracts, ideally with obligations relating to service delivery, key performance indicators, health and safety, asset maintenance.
  • Ability to compile clear and concise technical and non-technical reports for a range of audiences.
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrable experience of building relationships with and working effectively with contracted suppliers of services.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint and experience and demonstrable ability to manage data using digital solution.
  • A customer-focused approach.
  • Methodical approach to auditing processes, procedures and practices.
  • Able to capture stakeholder's requirements.

Hybrid working and location.The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane. It is expected that you can split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 2 days each week spent in the office. Please note, this is the minimum expectation.
