Education Liaison Officer (two posts)- Ref CH03917

Salary: G8 £28,203- £32,164 FTE (Term time only)
This is a funded post for a period of two years

Walsall’s Virtual School is seeking to appoint two enthusiastic and highly motivated professionals to improve the educational outcomes of all Walsall’s Looked After children. The role will require you to provide support, guidance and challenge to designated school staff, social workers and other professionals to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the part they play in improving educational outcomes for Looked After and vulnerable children.

These posts offer great opportunities for successful professionals to contribute to the development of the Virtual School. You will be joining a highly motivated and expanding team, committed to improving the life chances of our children and young people. The applicants should have knowledge of, experience in, and a commitment to, improving school practice and outcomes of Children who are Looked After.

Both posts involve cross-phase work, but one will have a particular focus on the needs of vulnerable children in the Gypsy Roma Traveller community and those within the youth justice service.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.

Walsall Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Completion of a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check may be a requirement of this post.
