We are looking for motivated people who are passionate about providing outstanding care quality for adults with learning disabilities.
We are recruiting for a Day Service Assistant to join our team at our Specialist Day Opportunities in Leek Moorlands. This service supports adults with complex learning disabilities and autism by providing meaningful opportunities and activities. We pride ourselves in offering a person-centred service that promotes the wellbeing and independence of the people we support.
We have a 35 hr per week position available. We require the person to work during the following hours, Monday – Friday, to provide support between 8am - 3pm / 9am - 4pm, dependant on the needs of the service.
We are a flexible employer and will consider various working patterns to accommodate your availability.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and will require a pre-employment health assessment as part of the onboarding process.
Induction, supervision, and full training will be provided.
Pay rate is £13.02 per hour, this rises with increments to £14.41.
Main Responsibilities
We offer diverse and varied work experiences, with no day being the same. Some of the tasks you may undertake include:
- Supporting with personal care (dressing, showering etc.)
- Supporting with moving and handling needs
- Supporting with eating and drinking
- Administering medication
- Supporting someone to access their community safely
- Running activities and sensory sessions in our centres
- The role may require you to carry out manual handling tasks to support clients in their day to day lives
What you will bring
- Enthusiastic about working with vulnerable people and are caring, sensitive, and patient.
- Willing and physically able to support people with personal and intimate care needs and physically able to undertake manual handling tasks.

- Experience of working in a team
- Practical knowledge of health and safety for vehicles and providing transport
- Effective communication skills
