Deputy to Head of Claims Management Unit (Operational lead)

The Claims Management Regulation Unit (CMRU) is based in Burton on Trent, and supports the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) with responsibilities for authorisation, monitoring the market and enforcement in relation to the Compensation Act 2006. This Act created the regulatory framework for claims management companies. Our work is intelligence-led, and the activities of the intelligence team involve partnerships at a local, regional and national level.

Due to steady growth and some internal restructuring we are looking for an individual with extensive experience of regulation / enforcement and the ability to lead and support managers about matters pertaining to case management and supervision of staff. The successful individual will have experience of managing staff through managers and excellent knowledge and experience in civil and criminal law.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within the CMRU. You will report directly into the Head of Unit with a key objective for the role being the management of Principal Officers relating to decisions regarding non compliance.

Key duties include:-

• Providing support to the Head of CMRU as required and being key point key point of contact for the Principal Officers managing teams of Case Managers particularly around enforcement abilities / powers.

• Leading and managing the Compliance, Authorisation and Enforcement teams, providing support in achieving the departments objectives and development for individuals

• Working closely with senior stakeholders to support and provide guidance, where needed, to the whole Unit.

• This position would be suited to an individual who has previous enforcement and operational experience, either within a regulator or law enforcement environment.
