About the role

We are looking to appoint an individual to join our Procurement team of specialists.

The team provides quality procurement support and guidance to officers who need to put new contracts in place.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting on a range of tenders for Social Care and Health, Children and Young People, (in some cases jointly with other LAs and/or the ICB), WFRS and some service areas in Resources.
  • Leading on low level procurements using Invitations to Quote.
  • Providing other support as required by commissioners, operational staff, and contract management.
  • Helping to update guidance and procurement templates to account for the new Provider Selection Regime and upcoming Procurement Act.
  • Assisting commissioners etc with understanding the requirements of the existing procurement regulations, the new Provider Selection Regime, and the upcoming Procurement Act, all in compliance with Contract Standing Orders.
  • Assisting with the management of the In-Tend on-line tendering portal and delivering training on the use of the portal as and when required.
  • Contributing to the overall delivery of the Procurement (People) team projects and targets.

 

To be successful you must have the ability to work independently and apply your own initiative.  You must be able to work under pressure, including meeting unpredictable deadlines, dealing with conflicting demands and capable of managing relationships.

In return you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience in social care, public health and education procurement.

Additional Information

The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
