Shenstone Lodge School – The Brades Lodge currently educates and supports 56 students in Key Stage 3 & 4 who experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.  A new build project is underway on the school site. Once complete The Brades Lodge will be able to place in the region of 70 students.

 

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a reflective practitioner with the ability to lead a small department to deliver high quality, engaging English and Reading lessons for students with a broad range of needs, up to and including GCSE. 

 

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Be an outstanding practitioner with excellent subject knowledge
  • Promote the importance reading and ensure that it is embedded across the broader curriculum as appropriate
  • Support none specialist staff to adapt resources and teaching aids to meet learners reading levels

  • Be confident leading and supporting a small dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants

Salary:                    Teacher Main Pay Range (£30,000 - £41,333)

Allowances:           SEN £2,539 + TLR 2a £3,214

Company

Shenstone Lodge is a 'split-site', part residential school supporting and educating students who present with Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health needs.  It has recently joined The Manor Hall Academy Trust.

The school secured a ‘GOOD’ rating in its last educational Ofsted inspection in May 2017.

The residential provision is inspected by Ofsted annually and received ‘OUTSTANDING’ in February 2020.

The Shenstone Lodge site is based just outside of Shenstone village, near Lichfield in Staffordshire and currently supports students from Y1 toY7.

There is a residential provision on this site which accommodates up to 12 students overnight between Monday and Thursday during term time.

The Brades Lodge site is a day school situated in Tividale, Oldbury and supports students from Y7 to Y11.

The school is funded across the two sites for a total of 95 students.

Students at both Shenstone Lodge School sites have access to:

A curriculum with a strong focus on developing core academic skills, using a range of interventions to improve reading, writing and maths.

A supportive and knowledgeable staff group

A wide range of enrichment opportunities to develop self-management skills, build self-esteem and promote aspiration.

As a special school all students benefit from small class sizes, high levels of support and well resourced subjects.
