Income Collection Assistants - Ref: RT05324
  • Salary G5 - £25,119 - £28,770 per annum (Pay Award pending)
  • 2 Permanent Full Time posts
  • 1 Fixed Term Full Time post (12-months)

Your role will be to work as part of the Income Team within the Financial Administration & Support Service. You will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective income collection service to meet the aims, objectives and needs of Financial Administration and the wider organisation.

You will be required to carry out the following duties:
  • Assist in the recovery of debt to maximise and secure income due to the Council by taking effective and timely recovery action, including issuing reminder letters, telephone collections, referral of debts to collection agents, administering payment terms and instalment arrangements, and accurate and timely monitoring of debt.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing and validation of financial transactions and control documents and undertaking the accurate reconciliation of financial information relating to debtor accounts.
  • Assist in providing a cost effective best in class customer focussed service, working with customers to ensure that their needs are met and providing advice and information relating to debt collection.

This is a customer facing role which requires personal resilience. You will be expected to communicate verbally and deal effectively with enquiries from all sources, understanding the importance of confidentiality and taking appropriate action to resolve queries where necessary and preparing correspondence as appropriate.

To be successful you will have substantial experience of debt recovery processes and working in a financial administration environment, together with possession of a qualification in business and finance at NVQ level 3 or equivalent job experience.
