Salary up to £66,269 (This is made up of a basic salary with a retention payment of £5000 per annum, additionally there is an incentive payment of £1,000 & Relocation Package of up to £8,000 subject to tax and NI deductions - T's & C's will apply)

Birmingham Children’s Trust are looking to recruit a Team Manager to lead a Child in Need Team covering the East of the city.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will lead, manage and develop the team in improving the quality of professional social work practice being delivered to children who are subject to Child in Need plans.  Promoting a positive working culture, you will lead by example, by maintaining the highest standards of practice - and empowering others to do the same.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Extensive experience of working with vulnerable children and their families
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of child in need processes and s47 processes.
  • Knowledge and experience of private law processes.
  • Recent experience in direct supervision of staff.
  • Experience of working as an effective partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • An effective team player and communicator
  • A thorough working knowledge of professional social work practice and all relevant legislation
  • The capacity to intervene effectively within situations of increasing complexity, risk and challenge.
  • Resilient under pressure
  • Good understanding of working in a duty and assessment team as there will be occasions when cover is required for the assessment teams that are part of the management group.
