The Warwickshire Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is a new team responsible for managing and responding to all children and adult safeguarding concerns. The MASH will consist of staff from a number of agencies working together in partnership.

The Role

37.0 Hours per Week

The MASH Team Managers will manage and supervise a group of Social Workers. You will be responsible for ensuring the referral and MASH process is implemented. You will provide leadership to Social Workers and other professionals within the MASH including police, probation, health and other colleagues regarding child safeguarding issues. You will lead other in completing complex risk assessments and make decision upon responses to referrals received by the MASH based on collated intelligence.

As a member of the MASH management and leadership team you will ensure referrals are responded to within appropriate timescales. You will ensure the team achieve better outcomes for children and contribute towards demonstrating the difference the MASH has made to children and adults.

You will ensure the team adhere to Early help, Child In Need, Child Protection, Looked After children and other procedures.

As the MASH is a new team the successful candidate will help develop the team.

Supporting the Team to listen to and work in partnership with Service Users, to address issues of need and abuse of children.

Provide supervision of the social workers and social care workers, providing regular performance feedback.

Helping to develop child and family focused targets for the team, then ensuring these targets are delivered, to improve outcomes for children and their families.

Ensure the quality of work completed by the team is to a high standard and all statutory duties are met.

To manage workload and allocation of work.

To authorise referrals on computer system and evidence decision making.

To Chair and lead safeguarding meetings such as Strategy Meetings and any other meetings as necessary.

To develop staff and other professionals through teaching/learning opportunities, through observation and feedback and by motivating and supporting staff to perform well.

Ensuring performance issues are identified, shared, reviewed and addressed.

To deputise for the Operations Manager as necessary.
