Job Details
Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services. The role
The post holder will lead the Housing Business Support team, the provision of assurance, collation and submission of statistical, regulatory returns and benchmarking submissions and be responsible for the collection, collation, verification and analysis of data from a range of diverse sources to support operational and strategic decision making.
The post holder will also be responsible for the processing of the sale of council properties under the Right to Buy scheme and ensure the Housing IT systems are functioning correctly.
Key Requirements
- Manage the activities of the Housing Business Support Team to provide a quality services to internal and external customers.
- Ensure the completion of statutory returns to the Regulator of Social Housing and Government departments including CORE reporting and support Housing Services in the preparation for an Inspection
- Lead a comprehensive, sensitive and effective complaints and compliments service for Housing within the Council; working strategically with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve issues and provide satisfactory outcomes for the tenants of the Council.
- Ensure that effective performance management systems are in place to deliver and manage Strategic Business Planning. Ensuring that effective Business Intelligence Dashboards are available to all Housing Service Managers.
- Responsible for the annual rent review, applying the rent increases as approved by the Council and updating the Housing Management System.
- Ensure the Right to Buy process is completed within statutory requirements and approve s.125 offer notices.
Skills & experience
At least 3 years experience working in a housing service and educated to ‘A Level’ or an equivalent professional CIH housing qualification
At least 3 years management experience to include the management of team of staff.
Detailed knowledge of policies and legislation relating to social Housing.
Experience of managing budgets.
Experience of developing, implementing policies and procedures and managing projects.
Must be flexible and have a ‘can do’ attitude and approach in supporting the demands and specific needs of the service
