Here at Warwick District Council, we pride ourselves on the fact that we offer you a great place to work.

We achieve our goals by recruiting and retaining motivated, empowered and flexible staff. We are committed to training and development, and we encourage a healthy work-life balance.

We offer the rewards and benefits that make it a great place to work.

We offer a wide range of career opportunities at every level of the organisation. From apprenticeships to senior management, permanent to fixed term contracts or part-time working, we have something for everyone.

This is a great opportunity to work with the Arts Section at Warwick District Council, gaining skills, knowledge and experience of the district's arts sector. Based within the Collections & Engagement Team, you will work closely with the Learning & Engagement Officer and our Learning & Engagement Assistants across our three sites: Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum, Royal Spa Centre and Leamington Town Hall.

The successful candidate will have a passion for the arts and culture, and a desire to break down barriers in order to engage diverse audiences and ensure that they have opportunities to access, create and benefit from cultural activities. You will use arts, culture and heritage to enhance and improve learning through creative workshops, visits, talks, performances, events and digital arts, and using online content. You will deliver learning and engagement events while ensuring that health and safety requirements and the principles of Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults are met. This includes the use of risk assessments, standard operating procedures and documenting and reporting events.

This post offers the opportunity to study towards Level 3 (Cultural Learning and Participation Officer). No experience is necessary as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. Qualifications required are 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C including Maths and English, IT literate including knowledge of main Microsoft office software.

If you have a willingness to learn, knowledge and passion for the arts, and a proactive approach to problem solving, then this could be the role for you.

The Training Provider for this apprenticeship is Access Creative College. Information regarding the course can be found here.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

This post is based at Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum at the Royal Pump Rooms. Some home or hybrid working is possible. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate.
