Project Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Officer to play a leading role in helping us drive forward a number of important corporate projects in and around Royal Leamington Spa town centre. This post is being offered on a fixed term basis for 2.5 years.
Warwick District Council is a forward-looking proactive authority which is keen to explore how it can use its skills, community leadership role and asset base to help deliver projects to improve the economic prosperity of the area and the lives of those living within the district. Current projects include delivery of a Creative Quarter and several major town centre regeneration opportunities in the Old Town area.
This post sits within a small team which works with stakeholders to scope and develop projects, working with colleagues from across the council, councillors, external stakeholders our regeneration development partner and others.
You will need to be self-motivated and enthusiastic, with experience of leading large-scale programmes of work, feasibility assessments and major projects in the areas of planning, economic development and regeneration. A professional qualification recognised by the Royal Town Planning Institute or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors is desirable but not essential. You will need to have strong collaboration, communication and negotiation skills, along with a good understanding of the planning system. You will also need to have experience of working with key stakeholders in the development process.
The intention is for the postholder to work predominately from home however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.
