About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term (1year) role of a Commissioner within the Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Commissioning Team for Learning Disability and Autism, hosted by Warwickshire County Council.
The primary focus of this role will be on commissioning activity related to Autism. The Integrated Commissioning Team are working on behalf of Coventry and Warwickshire Local Authorities and NHS Integrated Care Board to lead on the delivery of the Coventry and Warwickshire All Age Autism Strategy and to support the delivery of the Coventry and Warwickshire Learning Disability and Autism Programme, aiming to support people with more complex needs to stay safe and well. A key aim of the team is to develop services and facilitate transformational change to support residents to live fulfilling and rewarding lives within a society that accepts and understands them. We work to improve access to information, advice and support when people need it and to enable them to lead healthy, happy and safe lives in their local communities.
As strategic commissioners, our activity is focused on the commissioning cycle, this includes undertaking service reviews, working with data and evidence to understand demand and gaps in provision, managing service contracts and working in partnership with a range of stakeholders to deliver our commissioning intentions.
To further expand the team, we are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient and high performing individual with the values that match those of the team, to help us deliver our ambitious goals. The successful postholder will be employed by Warwickshire County Council but will work on behalf of the local Coventry and Warwickshire system.
Key Requirements
This Commissioner role will have a specific focus on delivery of our commissioning intentions related to the following key areas.
- Delivery of the Coventry and Warwickshire Autism Strategy and the LDA Programme.
- Coproducing with Experts with Lived Experience and being a champion for coproduction in all areas of work
- Commissioning of Community Autism Support Services including embedding recommendations arising from a recent service evaluation
- Supporting projects aimed at enhancing experience of neurodivergent children in education settings
- Maintaining existing information and advice offer for neurodivergent families and professionals
- Support market shaping activity in line with the LDA Market Development Plan.
As well as delivery of other commissioning intentions related to the work of the Integrated Commissioning Team, as appropriate to the role.
