Salary G9: £38,223- £43,421 per annum (pay award pending)
This role forms a key part of the Councils Community Safety Team and will be integral to taking forward and coordinating council and partnership activity to tackle this high priority issue. This is an exciting time to join the team and to support and influence the direction of this work. This will include the development and implementation of Walsall’s Domestic Abuse Strategy and associated Delivery Plan, the development of a coordinated community/whole system Response to Domestic Abuse and the commissioning of specialist Domestic Abuse services and other activity.
Walsall has a developing Domestic Abuse Partnership with strong multi agency commitment. The Domestic Abuse Coordinator will play a central role in the development of this work and the delivery of Walsall’s on-going response to this important issue. In doing so they will help protect the residents and communities of Walsall whilst ensuring as a borough we meet our statutory requirements.
The role and work will support the Council’s Resilient Communities model, which is a strength-based approach that, where appropriate, utilises individuals and communities to support themselves and underpins that support with integrated services and integrated enforcement.

Applicants will have experience of working in a partnership environment and have extensive knowledge and experience of domestic abuse practice and legislation. They will also have experience of policy and strategy development, supporting or leading commissioning activity and a degree or relevant professional or vocational qualification or relevant experience.
For this role the successful candidates must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities.
