About Us:

Sandwell Council’s Inclusive Learning Services team is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Business Support Officer to join our busy administration and finance department. This role is crucial in supporting the team with a variety of administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our services that support children’s education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide confidential, effective, and efficient administrative support to the Inclusive Learning Services Teams.
  • Assist in the production and management of various documents including emails, spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
  • Maintain accurate electronic filing systems, including the scanning and organization of documents.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing post, ensuring timely distribution, and uploading to relevant systems.
  • Support the team with general administrative duties including word processing, data entry, and telephone reception.
  • Assist with the procurement of services and supplies as required. Arrange meetings, book venues, and organize hospitality as needed.

About You:

You are a well-organized professional with a positive and flexible approach to changing priorities. You excel in customer service, with strong communication and listening abilities. You have substantial experience working in an administrative environment, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Your attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure will ensure your success in this role.

Experience Required:

  • Experience working within business administration and/or finance functions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing work demands.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE standards A – C in English.
  • NVQ Level 1/2 in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Word processing Stage 1/2 or equivalent

18.5 hours per week
