What to Expect:

You will lead and manage a small team of Environmental and Operational Services Officers to oversee the contracted services being delivered in our communities and neighbourhoods across the District.

Using your strong People Management and Contract Management experience, you will coach your team, build a positive team culture, enable your team to develop excellent relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and effectively manage contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality community and neighbourhood services, which positively impact the lives of those we serve.

This role will lead on small procurement processes, across a diverse range of services in areas and communities across Stratford-on-Avon District, ensuring that the residents, businesses and visitors of the District are getting the best possible outcomes, for the best possible price.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities (Please see Job Description and Person Specification for more details):

  • Overall day-to-day management of the Environmental and Operational Services Officers.
  • Manage the effective delivery of the Council’s contracted waste collection, street cleansing and grounds maintenance services.
  • Manage the enforcement activities in the Council’s open spaces and car parks.
  • Lead on the procurement of the Council’s off-street parking contracts.
  • Responsible for the provision and publication of accurate KPIs and performance data.
  • Support the Environmental and Operational Services Manager to ensure that the Council’s contractors deliver excellent, customer-focused, value for money services, which best meet the needs of the public and enhance public satisfaction.

 

What You’ll Need (Please see Job Description and Person Specification for more details):

  • People Management experience or experience of managing a team during periods of change.
  • Experience in Contract Management, preferably in one of the services listed in the Job Description.
  • Experience of Procurement activities, preferably in one of the services listed in the Job Description.
  • Experience of preparing and presenting formal reports and presentations.
  • Excellent Customer and Relationship management skills, at all levels.
