Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking to appoint a Library Service and Digital Inclusion Manager with overall responsibility for the strategic and operational management of four Council run libraries and working with community partners to ensure the operational success and development of a further five community led libraries.

The Council undertook a full review of our library service in 2016 which lead to the creation of the community run library partnerships which are still in their infancy.  We also set out our ambitious strategic objectives for the future development and direction of library services in the Borough over the coming years.

The post holder will also be responsible for leading the Digital Inclusion element of the Council’s Digital Strategy which involves responsibility for upskilling local residents and service users to improve their ICT skills and ensure access to new technology, both through our libraries and the wider community.

Applications are welcomed from individuals who have the creativity and imagination needed to develop a modern day library service which remains relevant to the changing needs of our residents, as well as having robust leadership, organisational and people management skills.

A passion for all things digital and the future of libraries is essential. Applicants should hold a recognised librarianship qualification.
