An exciting opportunity has arisen within Adult Social Care, Commissioning in our Strategy and Integration Team for a Commissioning Officer. Do you work collaboratively with others and work well with deadlines? One of our Commissioning Manager’s really needs your support to make the ASC aspiration to deploy TEC to improve citizen outcomes a reality.

  • support the operational delivery of the current TEC service for our vulnerable adults, working with the small ASC TEC Team and liaising with Social Care Practitioners and Careline, pulling together key stats on the deployment of Telecare, Ownfone and Activity Monitoring and sharing learning
  • support the way that ASC deploys Technology Enabled Care (TEC) to improve citizen outcomes, provide choice in service and change social care practice including;
    • close involvement with the TEC Demonstrator working across a number of stakeholder organisations, such as Coventry and Wolverhampton Councils and colleagues from West Midlands 5G to be able to maximise the success of the programme with 350 Birmingham citizen’s directly involved alongside our City Wide Adults Impact Team and Yardley Constituency Team and reporting as required to all key stakeholders and encouraging social care teams to understand the real benefits of deploying TEC to the right citizen really well
    • supporting the development and continued involvement of our Citizen TEC Board, arranging meetings, supporting working groups and ensure on-going involvement in all TEC programmes
    • Upon the success of the TEC Demonstrator supporting the refresh of the Transformed TEC business case to be ready to go to Cabinet for approval and then out to market as appropriate working with Rethink Partners and other key stakeholders to realise this ambition.
  • Completing the procurement cycle for commissioning a new Birmingham Community Loan Equipment Service to start on the 1st April 2025 as and when this is necessary, working with Clinical Leads and NHS colleagues.
  • Working on the delivery of the final year of the digitising social care programme focused around the deployment of sensor based falls into Care Provider organisations alongside West Midlands Care Association, Solihull MBC and Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board.
  • Other commissioning duties, as and where capacity allows and where development opportunities exist.
