Watermill School is a unique and inclusive school, with a designation of Cognition and Learning. The school opened in January 2014 to serve the children of Stoke on Trent and surrounding communities. We currently have 239 children on roll from Reception to Year 11 and all children have an Education, Health and Care Plan. 

We pride ourselves on the friendly atmosphere of our school community, which enables our children to thrive and reach their potential in all aspects of their life. We promote high levels of independence through all aspects of the school day and are passionate about improving the lives of the children in our school.  We believe in celebrating success and ensure children feel valued. 

We wish to appoint a Special School Support Assistant with a keen interest in supporting children with special educational needs and a good understanding of behaviour management, to join our supportive and hardworking team.

The role will be to provide teaching and learning support under the direction of the class teacher.  For this post we require someone who 

is motivated, hardworking and flexible with a qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy equivalent to at least NVQ Level 2.

The role is permanent for 32.5 hours a week over 5 days commencing as soon as possible, paid at Level 5 term time only. Please note that it is a requirement of the post to work across all age groups from 4 years to 16 years and to provide personal and medical care for the pupils, for which training will be given.
