£30,153 – £32,486 per annum (PO1)
2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Following the recent launch of our ICT Strategy, an exciting opportunity has now arisen for a talented developer to join the innovative ICT Department as an Applications Developer.

With strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively, you’ll be responsible for developing, enhancing, upgrading and maintaining internal business systems. Part of this will involve using a range of products, including ASP.Net, ASP.Net MVC, C#, Entity Framework, SQL and other related technologies, so your knowledge will need to be solid in these areas.

We’d like you to have considerable experience in an applications/business systems developer role and a degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology.

A solid understanding of Microsoft Sharepoint, .net framework and related technologies as well as experience of working with Microsoft BI products and cloud services including Office 365, would also be a distinct advantage.

If you enjoy a challenge and want to make a difference every day in an exciting organisation, then this is the role for you.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) is a forward thinking, high performing organisation that provides vital fire and rescue services across the two counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

All of our staff contribute towards saving lives, whether directly or indirectly, and make a difference to those in the community every single day.

As an employee of HWFRS you will enjoy a range of attractive staff benefits which include a childcare voucher scheme, flexible working hours and emergency service discounts.

For further details on the role, please see the full job description.

The closing date for applications is midnight on Thursday 31st August and interviews will be held on Friday 15th September.
