Hours: 37
Salary: HC7 (£29,777 - £33,945 per annum)
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 0710/2024
Interview date: 14/10/2024
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join Herefordshire Council’s Commercial Services Team.
Forming part of the Corporate Services Department, the Commercial Services Team is a dynamic, multi-skilled team which provides council directorates with procurement and contract management support.  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with great relationship skills to support the delivery of commercial activity across the council.  You will provide high quality, responsive and practical procurement advice and guidance across a range of services areas, including construction and social care.  The role will include supporting service areas to develop effective procurement strategies and quotation/tender documentation that will support the council to achieve value for money.
This role comes at an exciting time as you will also be involved in supporting the implementation of the new Procurement Act 2023 due to come into effect on 24th February 2025.
The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working in a public sector procurement and supply environment, although this is not essential. You will be suitably qualified by having CIPS level 4 (or be willing to work towards this), or educated to degree level or equivalent and demonstrable experience for both.
The role is available immediately and is full-time at 37 hours per week. Join us in helping to make Herefordshire an even better place to do business, visit and live. We can’t wait to hear from you.
To arrange an informal discussion about the role please contact Carrie Christopher at carrie.christopher@herefordshire.gov.uk
