We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate teacher to lead our local authority-commissioned SEMH Resource Base, Maple Tree, at Hawbush Primary School. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in October 2024.
As the Lead Teacher of the SEMH Base, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality SEND provision, focusing on social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will be a strong leader who can galvanise and inspire your team to achieve excellent outcomes for all pupils. Your adaptability and resilience will be crucial, along with your ability to contribute effectively to the positive culture and ethos of our welcoming and inclusive school community. Experience working with children with additional needs in a primary or Early Years setting is highly desirable. We offer excellent opportunities for your professional development and encourage all staff members to continually improve their practice and develop their careers.
You will be committed to achieving the highest standards for all students. As a resourceful, inclusive, and enthusiastic practitioner, you will have a track record of high-quality teaching and a deep understanding of strategies and practices that promote excellent pupil outcomes, particularly for those with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
In this role, you will work closely with the school's Senior Leadership Team and the drb Ignite School Improvement Team to lead an ambitious and bespoke provision. You will be responsible for developing a curriculum that meets the needs of our pupils, enabling them to achieve the best possible outcomes regardless of their circumstances or background.
Within our Trust, you will have:
- Opportunities to share ideas and improve both your own and the school’s practice
- Your professional ambitions actively encouraged and supported
- Opportunities to work with colleagues across a range of schools
Our school provides:
- The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, many of whom are disadvantaged
- A supportive Senior Leadership Team
- Quality resources and a rich environment to enable you to develop a personalised approach for every child you teach
- Excellent CPD to support your career development
We strongly encourage you to arrange an informal visit to meet the team.
Hawbush Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all applicants, and the successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification to be offered the post.
