TEACHING ASSISTANT KS2
Salary: Grade 4, SCP 4 £23,500 (FTE) Actual salary £16,737 per annum depending on years’ service
Contract: Permanent
Working Hours: Term Time only (38 pupil weeks). Additional time may be required on INSET days for training which will receive an additional payment
Monday to Friday 8.45am – 12.15pm and 1.30 pm – 3.30 pm (27.5 hrs per week)
Start Date: November 2024
Ridgeway Primary Academy has an excellent reputation and provides a lively and creative environment in which to work. We gained ‘Good’ in our most recent Ofsted inspection and we are a founding member of Primitas Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust which seeks to make a positive difference in the local community.
We are looking to appoint an experienced & enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a KS2 classroom (Year 5 in the first instance). The successful candidate will work under the direction of the class teacher usually in the classroom with the teacher.
We are looking for someone who:
- Can provide structured support in accordance with specific work programmes designed and supervised by individual teachers
- Can provide support to pupils in relation to their individual abilities
- Can support pupils in relation to their individual needs e.g. behaviour strategies
- Can provide support to pupils to achieve learning goals, e.g. guided reading
- Can supervise pupils for a particular curriculum activity under the supervision and guidance of a qualified teacher
- Takes pride in maintaining positive working partnerships with colleagues, parents and carers.
- Has good verbal and written communication skills
- Has a commitment to continuing professional development
- Holds an NVQ L2 or L3 qualification or equivalent
- Has some experience of working with children
- Has experience within a school setting
