Job Details
Social Regeneration Officer (Maternity leave cover- temporary contract until September 30th 2025)
Due to the current post-holder taking maternity leave a unique development opportunity has arisen for a temporary Social Regeneration Officer.
The Social Regeneration Officer is at the centre of the Council’s approach to capacity building within communities and voluntary sector groups. As the lead officer for the Councillors’ Community Fund, Community Regeneration Fund and Community Lottery, the role oversees the processes associated with these funding pots and gives advice and/or guidance to voluntary groups, community groups and Councillors for the preparation and evaluation of funding bids. In addition, the position has responsibility for organising the Parish Council Forum and supporting the Cabinet Member chair.
Excellent networking and communications skills are critical as the post requires engagement with a wide variety stakeholders. A good understanding (or desire to learn) of the voluntary/third sector is important along with experience of working with elected members. Organisational and planning skills are a key requisite to ensure successful delivery against all funding streams.
This development opportunity could suit an officer with strong business and organisational acumen who is looking to expand their knowledge and experience of working with elected members and the voluntary/community sector. Conversely, officers with a background in community engagement (or similar) may also be suited to the role.
