Job Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to lead our Early Years Foundation Stage in our ever-improving school. The Governors and senior leaders are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dedicated teacher and phase leader who will play a significant role in the further development of our school in leading our Early Years Team. The successful candidate will initially be committed to teaching 2 days per week in the Early Years and will have 3 days leadership time. This opportunity is perfect for those passionate about the Early Years Curriculum and who are seeking a new challenge or taking the next step in their career.
Rood End Primary is a 2-form entry primary school situated in Oldbury.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring our children have the very best start to their education and who shares our very high expectations of children’s learning, achievement and behaviour. You will be able to demonstrate that you are an experienced and inspirational classroom practitioner who can motivate pupils and colleagues with strong leadership skills and that you are committed to working in partnership with pupils, parents, governors and the wider community.
The teaching commitment will be in one of our reception classes in the first instance. The post is not suitable for ECT’s.
Candidates must:
- be an experienced EYFS practitioner with an excellent understanding of the Early Years Framework
- demonstrate an ability to effectively liaise with pupils, colleagues, parents, and outside agencies
- be approachable with excellent communication skills
- have the confidence to lead on staff training and professional development
- have experience of leading a subject or phase and have up to date knowledge of this area
- have a good understanding of the use of tracking, assessment, monitoring and data analysis as an effective tool to accelerate progress and raise achievement
- be keen to learn and develop new skills
