Early Years Assistant

32.50 hours per week, working from 8.30 am - 3.30 pm

Scale 2, £12.00 per hour, £17,339 per annum. Term time plus 1 week

Temporary in the first instance, required as soon as possible. 

Woodlands are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, capable, and highly motivated individual, as a welcomed addition to our staff team. We are excited to be able to offer a vacancy within our outstanding Early Years Foundation Stage classes.

Experience of using a synthetics phonics scheme, such as Read Write Inc. is an advantage, but a willingness to learn and the commitment to our children’s education is essential.

The successful candidates will: - 

  • Have a sound understanding of the relative curriculum knowledge and experience of working across phases or be willing to learn. 
  • Be enthusiastic, highly motivated, enjoy working with young children and be passionate about making a positive difference to children’s lives.
  • Be creative and committed to making learning interesting and fun!
  • Inspire trust, instil confidence, and embrace challenges, to raise pupil expectation and attainment.
  • Be able to work as part of a successful, hard-working, dedicated team.
  • Have had experience of shared planning and assessment to enable the interpretation of data to support target setting and pupil tracking or be willing to learn. 
  • Have a good sense of humour.
  • Have English and Mathematics qualifications to GCSE level.
  • Be prepared to support children’s care.

The appointment is subject to enhanced DBS check.
