Rugby Free Primary School is a large primary school based in North Rugby, catering for 423 pupils from ages 4 – 11. We are an inclusive and happy school where children are provided with an engaging curriculum as well as a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities throughout their school journey with us. We promote our school values; resilience, respect, kindness, curiosity, collaboration and endeavour through all that we do. We are fully committed to raising standards to ensure our children receive a high-quality education. We are proud of our journey from a brand-new school in 2015 to a full and thriving school in 2024, serving our local community. We provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn in and we expect mutual respect and understanding of the opinions, beliefs and abilities of others. We have high expectations of the behaviour and attitudes to learning of our children and we promote respect, high aspirations and resilience from the whole-school community as we embed our values through all that we do. We encourage children to have excellent attendance in order to make the best possible progress they can in both their academic and social and emotional development. We believe these things should be recognised and celebrated in a positive way with a support first attitude.
An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Family and Child Support Worker to work with children and their families.
This is a varied role that focusses in particular on taking a lead in day to day safeguarding and attendance issues and supporting other Designated Safeguarding Leaders (DSLs) in promoting the safety and wellbeing of our children and their families.
The job purpose is to ensure effective advice, guidance and support for families, children and young people in order to encourage engagement, attendance, aspirations and positive life chances.
You ideally will have experience of making referrals, undertaking home visits and providing practical help and support to families. However, what is most important to us is that you believe that all children and families can be supported and that you feel comfortable with difficult and challenging conversations and support. Therefore, if you don’t have much safeguarding experience but have this unwavering belief and attitude that everyone can be helped and supported, please do apply.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children and their families. You will benefit from the full range of support from a professional and experienced team, committed to securing the best outcomes, can offer.
Rugby Free Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check and successful pre-employment checks are required for this post.
