UPR 1 +1 SEN/2 SEN POINTS (Dependent on qualification)
We are seeking to appoint a 0.4 permanent Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired from January 2025, or sooner if possible. The successful candidate will work within the Sensory Inclusion Service, which offers services to sensory impaired children and young people as part of Joint Arrangements between Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire Councils.
The successful candidate will hold the mandatory QTVI qualification.
Experience of supporting visually impaired children, their families and educational settings in a peripatetic support role is required. The appointed candidate will join a team of Teachers of the Visually Impaired and allied professionals working with sensory impaired children and young people with a range of sensory, learning and communication needs.
The role of Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired requires excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and the ability to work independently as well as contributing to the wider team within the Sensory Inclusion Service. The ability to be well organised and work to deadlines is essential.
Due to the nature of this role you must be able to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
Appointment would be subject to successful references and an enhanced DBS check.
