OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Salary Band E Scale 5-6 (£12.18/hr starting salary)
25 hours per week, term time only, plus inset days.
Fixed term until 21/07/24 with a view to being made permanent.

We are looking for a new Office Administrator to be a key part of our team in our very friendly and lively
village school. You will assist in the day to day running of the school office, with varied duties that will
ensure that there is never a dull moment!
You will:
• Be the welcoming face of Knightlow, as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff and
children, both face-to-face, by telephone and via email;
• Be responsible for the accurate daily recording of pupil attendance via SIMS
• Be First Aid trained to provide medical care for children when needed.
• Administer medicines to pupils
• Be responsible for first-day calling to ensure the safety of our children
• Complete various administrative duties, such as booking coaches for trips, sending out
communications, updating registers, inputting data and supporting staff with admin tasks.
The office is a busy environment with changing demands, so being well organised, resilient, proactive and able to multi-task will all be essential.
Strong IT skills are also fundamental to this role as management of office systems and databases,
generating correspondence and contributing to the website, are all key responsibilities for the successful candidate.
Previous experience of working in a primary school office is desirable, as is an understanding of the SIMS office system, although neither are essential and further training is available.
The position will be a fixed-term contract until the end of Summer 2025.
Key Requirements
• Minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grades A – C, or NVQ
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Friendly and caring with a professional manner and an ability to work as part of a team
• Well organised with strong administrative skills and
• Flexible and willing to undertake other duties as and when required
• An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and ensuring information is dealt with
sensitively
• A full commitment to safeguarding and protecting children
• Fulfil the requirements of an enhanced DBS disclosure.
