English Intervention Tutor

Hours – casual as required (by negotiation) up to 10 hours per week

Rate £25 per hour

Do you have the potential to inspire, engage, motivate and support students to raise attainment? 

We are seeking to appoint an Intervention Tutor in English at Thomas Alleyne’s High School, who will work with small groups and 1:1 pupils.

The successful candidate will have a firm commitment to raising whole-school achievement; have a professional approach to staff development; high expectations; and a determination to succeed.

The English department is forward thinking, friendly and supportive; teachers are passionate about academic excellence, collaboration and delivering high quality teaching for every student. The teams 

consists of full-time and part-time specialists in the department who are responsible for all aspects of the teaching of English throughout the school.

We are a 13 – 18 school at the heart of its community which provides a broad and balanced curriculum for students. The school is passionate in providing effective professional development of our staff.  The school is set in a rural location but is within easy reach of Burton, Derby, Lichfield, Stafford and Stoke.


Uttoxeter Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form.   All staff are also required to complete safeguarding training.
