Learning Support (Teaching) Assistant
Job Start Date: 4th November 2024
Prince Henry’s Support Staff points 2-4, starting point 2, £14,562.61 per year
28 Hours and 20 minutes per week
A rare opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to join the team of Learning Support Assistants at Prince Henry’s High School. Whilst most of our learning support work is carried out with students in classroom situations, there may also be 1:1 or small group work required which will be aligned to the experience, interest or qualifications of the successful candidate.
This 1-1 work will take place in our Learning Support Department which has recently benefited from a major refurbishment in order to create a more nurturing environment for students with more complex needs.
Working hours will be from 9.25 am – 3.35pm from Monday to Friday (including unpaid morning & lunch breaks) during term-time, including TED Days (39 weeks/195 days per year, 0.8553 of full-year equivalent). The option to work part-time within this range is also available.
Prince Henry’s is a popular and over-subscribed 13-18 High School, with approximately 1,300 students on roll. Priding itself on its universal values and ethos, as well as its inclusivity, the school enjoys an excellent reputation locally and has consistently been judged as outstanding by Ofsted.
Working as part of a team under the direction of the school’s SENDCO/Head of Learning Support and a member of our Senior Leadership team, training will be provided, if required.
Further information is available from the Head of Learning Support, Mrs Sarah Nolan.
Closing date for applications: 9.30am, Monday 14th October 2024
Interviews: Shortly thereafter
Application Process
All applications must be made on the Prince Henry’s application form (no CVs) and supported by a formal letter. The application form, together with a full job description and other useful information, can be downloaded from the advertisement on the school’s website, or is available from the Headteacher’s PA, Mrs Zoe Bradley (telephone 01386 765588 or email secretary@princehenrys.worcs.sch.uk).
Applications can be submitted to Zoe Bradley in a hard copy format or electronically by email.
Prince Henry's High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check will be completed for all applicants. In accordance with our statutory obligations under Keeping Children Safe in Education the school is required to conduct an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This may help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, which the school might want to explore with you at interview.
