Are you an exceptional teacher with a passion for SEND? Are you a qualified SENCo, or keen to train as one?
Old Hill Primary School and Nursery is looking for an outstanding classroom teacher and SENCo to join our leadership team in January 2025. This exciting role offers the opportunity to blend your classroom expertise with strategic leadership in SEND, driving innovation and support across our school.
As a participant in the PEIA - WESEND Sandwell project, we offer a unique platform for you to contribute to the development of pioneering SEND support models. In this role, you will be instrumental in establishing and managing our SEND Hub (not a focused provision), while providing strategic leadership in SEND and continuing to teach in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
SENCo Role (Initially 1 day per week, expanding to 2 days out of class):
- Lead on the development and implementation of SEND strategies across the school and nursery.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure effective SEND interventions and support for pupils.
- Set up and manage our SEND Hub, promoting innovative approaches to inclusion.
- Work closely with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Monitor SEND pupils' progress, oversee Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and ensure statutory requirements are met.
KS2 Teacher (2 days per week):
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to the needs of all pupils.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment where every child is encouraged to succeed.
- Work as part of the wider school team to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
The Ideal Candidate:
- An outstanding teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has completed NASENCo or is committed to working towards the NPQ for SEN Coordination within 3 years.
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills and has experience working with pupils with SEND.
- Is organised, collaborative, and passionate about ensuring all children receive the support they need to thrive.
Why Join Us?:
- Be part of the innovative PEIA - WESEND Sandwell project, shaping new approaches to SEND support.
- A supportive and collaborative team with a commitment to inclusion and development.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development in both teaching and SEND leadership.
- A welcoming and inclusive school community.
