Job Details
As a Housing Services Officer, you will be responsible for managing complex tenancy management interventions, leading multi-agency meetings, and conducting proactive home checks. Your role will involve providing a proactive patch-based housing management service, ensuring professional and timely interventions to resolve tenancy breaches, reducing risks to residents and council assets, and supporting the Council’s priorities.
You will be expected to:
- Manage complex tenancy management cases, including safeguarding, domestic abuse, and neighbour disputes.
- Lead and participate in multi-agency meetings and case conferences.
- Conduct proactive home checks to identify and resolve tenancy-related issues.
- Provide estate management services to mitigate hazards and improve community perceptions.
- Support tenants in accessing services that align with Council priorities.
- Detect and address tenancy fraud.
- Collaborate with internal and external services to resolve tenancy-related issues.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and performance monitoring.
You will be expected to demonstrate:
- Strong customer focus, with the ability to build positive relationships and manage expectations.
- Experience in leading multi-agency responses and working collaboratively. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
- Leadership skills to motivate and support colleagues.

The Housing Services Officer plays a crucial role in aligning housing services with our corporate priorities. By fostering community engagement and delivering face to face patch-based services, the officer helps improve the quality of life for residents and supports the Council’s mission to deliver excellent services and achieve its goals.
You must hold Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 qualification or equivalent as a minimum.
