Job Details
Governors of Brierley Hill Primary School are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our school. Working collaboratively with staff the successful candidate will utilise their advanced knowledge/specialist skills to undertake 'specified work' and provide care and supervision to our children/young people.
We are looking for someone who has:
- a relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification or higher
- a good standard of education including English & maths (GCSE/Level 2)
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- experience of working within a classroom setting and with primary aged pupils
- excellent behaviour management skills
- the ability to work on their own initiative, and also work well as part of a team
The key responsibilities will include:
- Implement and undertake work in line with the Higher Level Teaching Assistants Standards
- To contribute to planning, preparing and delivery of learning activities and support programmes to individual or groups of pupils
- Delivering and planning lessons for groups of pupils/whole classes
- Supporting the class teacher(s) within school
- To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop.
- Assisting the pupils with developing academically, socially, and personally
- To use behaviour management strategies in line with the schools policy and procedures, which contribute to a purposeful learning environment.
- To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.

The successful candidate:
- will be empathetic, dedicated, and passionate
- will have HLTA status or proven experience
- will have experience working with the primary curriculum
- will have a good understanding of the English language
