Early Years Practitioner 

St Peter’s Catholic Academy (Cobridge)

The Principal and Academy Committee of St Peter’s Catholic Academy are looking to appoint an energetic, highly motivated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to work alongside our school’s enthusiastic and committed staff team. The successful candidate will support their colleagues to create an effective, safe and purposeful learning environment.


The successful candidate will require the ability to communicate effectively with a wide audience including Senior Leaders, teaching staff, support staff and students. A flexible and practical approach, and a 'can do' attitude would also be desirable. 

The successful candidate will:

  • An experienced practitioner with sound understanding of the Early Year framework and phonics who will help to promote high standards of behaviour and attainment. 
  • Be committed to promoting and further enhancing the Catholic ethos of our school.
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner who can demonstrate a thorough and up to date knowledge of teaching and learning.
  • Have the ability to contribute to the planning and resources to meet the needs of individual children with additional needs.
  • Be able to work effectively with colleagues and have good interpersonal skills.
  • Have desire and commitment to build upon the school’s outstanding strengths.
  •   Have a ‘can do’ attitude
  • · Proactive and use their initiative
  • · Be a reflective practitioner with the ability to learn from experiences and challenges
  •   Minimum NVQ 3 Early Years (or recognised equivalent qualification)
