Family Court Adviser (Social Worker) - South London

Our Social Workers are called Family Court Advisers and advise the Family Court as children and families go through significant events including care proceedings, adoption and parental separation. We are looking to recruit social workers for our private law team. Our private law cases are about working with children whose parents/families are going through divorce or separation and are seeking resolution to residency/visitor orders or families going through adoption.
In this role you’ll use your Social Work skills to understand what the child needs, wants and feels and will then give advice to the family courts on the best course of action for the child. You’ll be able to write confidently, providing powerful and succinct case analysis and make recommendations to the court. You will make a real difference for children by representing their best interests in the Family Courts, ensuring their voice is not lost in the court arena.
In order to complete this work you will be social work qualified, registered with the HCPC as a social worker in England, and experienced at working with highly vulnerable children and families. You will be an expert in safeguarding, child engagement, inter-agency working, case analysis, planning and recording.
Through the provision of laptops and smartphones we enable you to work in our office in Croydon, at court, at home, and, of course, with children and families. Developed IT systems and regular supervision from experienced managers ensures you can deliver your best and develop professionally. Our work is demanding, therefore you will need to be resilient and organised, have the ability to work proportionately, with strong IT skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. As you would expect there are a few key things we need you to be:
- Social Work qualified
- HCPC registered
- Experienced at working with highly vulnerable children and families
- Expert in safeguarding, child engagement, inter-agency working, case analysis, planning and recording.
Our work is demanding so for you to succeed and truly make a difference you should be someone who;
- Is resilient , self-sufficient, emotionally intelligent and organised
- Can prioritise their work in accordance to the need of the child and their families.
- Has strong, intuitive IT skills and is willing to embrace modern ways of working.
- Is an effective verbal and written communicator and able to effectively communicate by telephone.
