EAL Learning Support Assistant
Permanent Post from Autumn Term 2024
Part-time, 20 hours per week
Scale F, scp 7-10 (Pro rata from F:7 £24,294 – F:10 £25,979 per annum full-time salary)
Actual salary is £11,245 per annum, term-time only, plus five teacher training days

Campion School has a well-established, and renowned, EAL department, which aims to teach newly-arrived EAL students sufficient English, both oral and written skills, to enable them to access the curriculum in the mainstream classroom. The department is successful and well respected for its creative and inspiring work in this area.

We require an enthusiastic teacher who can deliver intensive learning support for pupils who are in the very early stages of speaking and working in English. This will involve small group tuition, differentiated delivery and assessment of students’ work. Ideally, the successful candidate will have achieved, or be studying for, the ESOL qualification. Previous experience would be advantage, but is not essential.
