The Role
An exciting opportunity to join Act on Energy working on a flagship project across the West Midlands Combined Authority area.
As Training Lead you will engage key stakeholders, support the development of resources and deliver training sessions, workshops and presentations to partners and professionals. Building strong partnerships externally, increasing knowledge, support and capacity to deliver key energy messaging to beneficiary groups.
Working closely with our training and development team to implement quality training programmes across the West Midlands Combined Authority region.

About You
Who are we looking for? You must have previous experience as a trainer, be a confident communicator at all levels with the ability to build and maintain relationships. You must be highly organised with strong administration and reporting skills to meet the high demands and project KPI’s.
You will be passionate about energy efficiency and drive this passion through your work. You will have an eye for detail and ensure that the delivery of our training programmes through this project are comprehensive and insightful to our target audience.
Main responsibilities
- Working with our quality training & development team designing, creating and delivering training programmes that meet the needs of practitioners and community representatives across the West Midlands Combined Authority area.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and other external partners across the West Midlands combined authority region.
- Support on developing, delivering and scheduling training sessions, workshops and presentations to our key partners and colleagues
- Utilising your skills and experience in public speaking, presenting, and facilitating, to deliver interactive and engaging sessions Receiving leads for training from project colleagues who will be supporting the development opportunities.
- Advocate for quality across the organisation establishing a visible profile for the programme, working with our training & development team ensuring colleagues are aware and take advantage of opportunities to support them through our programmes.
- Being a frontline ambassador for Act on Energy upholding our values and championing our work.
- Analyse training needs by collecting information related to specific tasks and reporting requirements
- Responsible for reviewing effectiveness of the training, identifying gaps in training using feedback to refine and adapt training to increase effectiveness. Willingness to travel across the West Midlands
What will you bring to the role:
- Experience creating training plans tailored to meet our organisational needs
- Strong experience of a variety of training methods, delivery and learning
- Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to build strong relationships to ensure the training is fully utilised within all areas of the business.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Learning and Development qualifications.
- Excellent organisational and people management skills.
- Proactive individual who is solution and delivery focused with great attention to detail.
Have a clear and informative communication style, Work effectively with a range of employees and partners Be a hard worker, managing a busy workload and meeting deadlines Have strong IT skills across Microsoft suite and confident in the use of Teams or a similar platform for hosting meetings and conferences. Understanding home energy efficiency or be willing to gain a basic understanding of the area and associated funding landscape, Show a commitment to our core values TRAINING
Training and support will be provided to you including opportunities to attend short training courses and potentially gain qualifications as needed.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Subject to a 6-month probationary period.
Interviews will be held in person at our offices Nr Salford Priors, Warwickshire.
