King Edward VI School Lichfield are delighted to offer the opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Design and Technology to join our high achieving, successful and dedicated team on a permanent basis from January 2025. The capacity, flexibility and willingness to teach across the Design & Technology disciplines would be an advantage.
All students follow a comprehensive Key Stage 3 programme for 2 hours per week with many students choosing to continue to Key Stage 4 through either GCSE Design & Technology or GCSE Food, Preparation & Nutrition. This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious and collaborative department. The appointed teacher will also have the opportunity over time to teach post-16 courses through A-level Product Design or other related courses. The post is suitable for a current classroom teacher or for an Early Career Teacher.
We are looking for a teacher with enthusiasm, initiative and excellent communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life.
King Edward VI School is a popular 11-18 comprehensive school rated Good by OfSTED in 2022 with recognition of outstanding practice and a highly positive ethos. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching; we have recently expanded, adding an additional form group to accommodate the growing number of children in the local area. Lichfield is a small, vibrant cathedral city which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas.
