We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable team members to assist in the production and delivery of school meals across the borough. Successful candidates will undertake general kitchen duties including the cleaning of associated equipment. In return, we offer an excellent pay rate, uniform and access to training.
Casual Food Preparation Assistants are valued members of our teams and are needed in our schools and Council buildings.
If you are available to work to a flexible pattern between the hours of 10.00am and 2.00pm, Monday to Friday term time, we would like to hear from you.
Successful applicants will hold or train for the Essential Food Hygiene Certificate.
The casual food preparation assistant post is of a non-contractual basis and work will be allocated on an ‘as and when needed’ basis, to cover annual leave and sickness, therefore hours are not guaranteed.
Should a permanent position arise, successful applicants for this post will be considered.
*Special conditions
In line with FSA guidance and due to the identifiable health and safety risks involved, there is a requirement to undertake a pre-employment health questionnaire prior to commencing kitchen duties.
This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
