The Adult and Community Learning service provides learning opportunities for adults and families in the Dudley borough.

We have courses for learners including English ,Maths, ESOL, ICT, Health and Well Being and Family Learning. 

We offer courses in our three friendly and accessible neighbourhood learning centres and community venues. 

We have a focus on supporting adults into sustainable employment with  training and opportunities and qualifications for personal development.  

We pride ourselves on our personal and caring approach, and our focus is to help our learners progress and achieve success. 

Our IAG (information, advice and guidance) service has a matrix quality award for our delivery.  


We are looking to recruit  a highly motivated, well-qualified, innovative and inspiring tutor. 

Tutors work closely with the Curriculum Team to shape and create a vibrant curriculum offer that meets local need, whilst ensuring the experience of every learner is the best that it can be.  

We require a tutor who may be able to teach different subject areas which could include Digital Skills, English, Maths, Family Learning and Health and Wellbeing.  

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues to plan, prepare and deliver high quality, learner-centred teaching, learning and assessment.  


ACL Tutors are integral in delivering a high quality learning service for borough residents. Tutors plan, design and teach classes in  their subject specialism.  Most of the learning sessions are  two / three hours long and spread over a number of weeks in daytime and evenings and occasionally at weekends.  

We require you to have 

  • A teaching qualification
  • Experience of working with adult learners
  • An understanding of the Education Inspection Framework, RARPA and quality assurance processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills 
  • Good ICT skills 
  1. It is term time only 39 working weeks (46 overall with leave)
  2. X2 jobs Annualised hours one is   21x46 = 966 and the second is 25x46= 1150
