About us and the role
Warwickshire County Council’s Adult and Community Learning is a dynamic, forward-looking adult education service, judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We deliver learning opportunities to adults in community venues across the county, and are looking for inspiring teachers to join us on an hourly-paid basis.
We are seeking a sessional tutor for Maths with excellent and current subject knowledge to deliver programmes to a variety of different learners across various levels from Entry Level to Functional Skills Level 2.
Candidates should display a creative approach to teaching and an ability to inspire and support a range of learners to beat their ‘maths anxiety’, develop their skills and encourage them achieve to their full potential.
Maths is taught through both face-to-face and online classes. Classes take place during both daytime and evenings, are typically two hours long and run across one academic year. The current rate of pay is £19.69 per hour, with an additional one hour's preparation and marking time paid for every two hours of teaching.
Key Requirements
You are likely to be an experienced teacher, with a passion for your subject and an ability to inspire your learners to achieve to the best of their abilities. You will need to have an innovative approach to teaching your subject and experience of working with learners with a range of abilities, learning disabilities and/ or learning difficulties.
An Enhanced DBS check with satisfactory clearance at offer stage is required for this role.
