The Wellbeing Officer role is to promote Independence and Wellbeing for customers living in the Independent living service .You will be responsible for providing a low level floating support service to vulnerable people, dealing with complex issues and meeting the concerns of the residents head on. The role deals with various issues

finding solutions and preventing tenancy failure. You will also provide impartial and confidential advice to tenants to ensure they pay their rent as a priority debt as well as developing and implementing new initiatives to help sustain tenancies for Nuneaton and Bedworth tenants.
You will also build and maintain partnership relationships with external bodies and represent the Council in the community and with other voluntary agencies.
Experience of working in sheltered housing or a social care environment in a customer facing role.
Experience of working with customers, both face to face and over the telephone.
Knowledge of the support needs of older persons and the role of other agencies in meeting these.
Sensitivity and understanding of the needs of older people and the potential risks of ageing in terms of mental and physical frailty.
GCSE or equivalent, grade A-C, to include Maths and English.
Knowledge of the Governments Welfare Reforms.
Experience of identifying safeguarding issues, reporting and referring to appropriate agencies.
Good knowledge and ability to use computer software such as Microsoft Office, to include Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Good planning and personal organisation skills.
Ability to deal effectively with challenging situations and resolve customer enquiries/ complaints.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to plan and organise workload in order to meet deadlines that can be unpredictable and cause conflicting demands.
Must be able to demonstrate empathy with customers.
Ability to react sensitively to the needs of others.
Must be self-motivated, assertive but tactful.
To understand and be committed to the Council’s Core Values and Vision.
Must hold a current driving license and have access to a motor vehicle, which will be used for visiting tenants at their homes and carrying out estate inspections.
