Working Pattern

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic person to support the delivery of a wide range of services to both Primary and Secondary Schools in Coventry and the surrounding area. You will be responsible for providing professional support to teachers, school librarians and schools, giving advice and guidance on the running of their libraries. This will include the selection of appropriate resources for curriculum and literacy support, reading and reviewing books, marketing services to schools and assisting in the running of events and other reading initiatives run by SLS. You will also be expected to work directly in schools and assist in the running of training courses for teachers and school support staff.

You’ll need:

• Qualified professional librarian with either a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information and Library Management or its equivalent as recognised by CILIP (Chartered Institute of Professional Librarian).
• Experience of working in a school library or a school library service, or in a public library service as a children’s/Young People's Services specialist
• Ability and willingness to travel to schools both inside Coventry and neighbouring areas.
