Job Details

The Home Environment Assessment and Response Team (HEART) is a formal partnership across five local authorities and the county council. Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is proud to be the hosting authority for this service which brings together the provision of housing adaptations, improvements, and minor adaptations for the residents of Warwickshire.

HEART is a service comprising of Occupational Therapists and Housing Assessment Officers who complete assessments with Warwickshire residents in their own homes. They offer solutions including provision of equipment, minor adaptations, and applications for Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) for major adaptations.

HEART is committed to continue to improve the services provided to customers and focuses on delivering the right solution at the right time. HEARTs overall aim is to ensure that people are able to maintain an independent life and ensure their home environment is adapted appropriately, is safe, and warm.

Due to our service expanding, we are now recruiting Housing Duty officers to operate a customer duty telephone screening facility which provides a first response to assess the client’s needs in order to provide the advice and assistance necessary for customers to pursue their chosen housing options and where appropriate, help maintain their independence in their chosen home for the foreseeable future or to improve the property. You will need to be able to adapt to varying demands throughout the course of a working day, be confident using the telephone to complete the role,  and prioritise your workload, while delivering a high level of customer service. The positions will be located within HEART North at NBBC Town Hall, and the role is office based. The role will require flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
