Job Details
We have a really exciting apprenticeship opportunity within our Capita Public Service division for an Apprentice Software Support Officer. This role is within our education software business so this person will be trained to support the software that we provide to schools across the UK along with other generalist software support skills needed to excel in this industry.
Alongside the day to day job you will also have offline time to undertake a level 3 Business Associate apprenticeship to supplement the knowledge that you are gaining through the role.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about a career in IT and is looking to develop their business skills, this role is based in Stafford so we are looking for someone who is able to work onsite at our Riverway office
What you’ll be doing:

Providing support to our extensive client base for our educational software (SIMS/Arbor)

Ensuring own knowledge is informed and up-to-date, and ensuring documentation, processes and internal staff training are current.

Maintaining an awareness of the services, Local Authority or Department of Education developments and relevant legislation, statutory obligations and advise customers (and/or partners) accordingly.

To be trained on and then provide a range of SIMS consultancy, on-site school support, office based and remote support and training services to schools.

Encouraging the development of customer skills and championing the most effective use of SIMS software to both raise pupil attainment and improve school effectiveness.

Ensure effective communication with schools and other third-party providers.

Deliver training as required to a wide range of ability levels.

To resolve problems relating to SIMS and ARBOR support, in a timely and effective way by telephone, remote support or site visit.

To assist in the design and delivery of technical training and seminars to Entrust customers, users and staff.
