Job Title: Qualified Social Workers
Multiple Vacancies Available
Salary:
Salary up to £40,476, plus £4,000 market forces*
Location: Multiple bases across Worcestershire
Contract: Both full-time and part-time permanent contracts available!

The Role:

  • Do you love working with children and young people?
  • Are you looking for a new challenge or change?
  • Do you want to further develop your social work career and knowledge working with permanent experienced colleagues and line managers?
  • Do you want to work for a service that has recently been rated as 'Good' by Ofsted?

Then Worcestershire Children First needs to be your next move!
Why work in Worcestershire?

Social Workers have access to our Social Work Academy – ensuring they have the right training & CPD opportunities to do their best work and support them in their Social Worker career.

The service is well supported with access to Advanced Social Work Practitioners, staff are also able to access advice, support & services from our Family Time Services and Get Safe (working with young people at risk or vulnerable to exploitation/undertaking return interviews). The combination of these services means Social Workers have more time to focus on their role and undertake direct work with children.

You will be supported by and working with a stable management group in teams where the culture of ‘team’ being a supportive learning environment is embedded with regular supervision, manageable caseloads, and regular team meetings. We know how important this is in achieving forward thinking and progressive social work practice where children and young people experience a great consistent and responsive service, and our partners have trust and confidence in us.

Our teams are area based, meaning you work within local communities – able to build links with families and partner agencies! We provide staff with the technology to enable them to work in a flexible & mobile environment and we have local area touch-point offices, ensuring staff have less travel in their roles. We have a range of roles for experienced Social Workers across the service to include our Assessment Teams, Safeguarding Services and Through Care.

Safeguarding Services:
Social Workers in the Locality Safeguarding Area are responsible for implementing complex child in need planning, child protection plans, private and public court proceedings. The focus of the work is supporting families to care for their children safely.

As Social Workers you will work closely with Specialist Family Support Services and a multi-disciplinary team working with families who are affected by substance use, mental health difficulties and domestic violence – this supporting you to have more time to undertake direct work with children & young people!
For more information contact Group Manager Ruth Hill for more information on the Locality Safeguarding roles on 01905 846 321

Through Care:
The Through Care Service supports children and young people who have permanent plans to remain looked after, we also support all the UASC young children within the service. Your work will be supporting young people to ensure that they have the correct care plan, and this is progressed in a timely way.  Our Through Care Service is aligned to our Family Time Service and our Health & Wellbeing Service – ensuring timely access to wellbeing support to our looked after children and carers.
