Teaching and Learning Support Assistant

32.5hrs Monday – Friday - Term time  Fixed term until 31/08/2025

 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching and Learning Support Assistant to support our children. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering tailored learning experiences and ensuring the children’s educational and emotional needs are met effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and Instruction: Provide one-on-one support for children, implementing personalised learning strategies and interventions designed to meet the child’s individual needs.
  • Assessment and Planning: Assess the child’s progress and adapt learning plans accordingly. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCo to create and implement effective personalised plans (in line with a child’s Pupil Passport) and other relevant documentation.
  • Behaviour and Emotional Support: Assist with managing the child’s behaviour and emotional well-being, employing strategies to support positive behaviour and self-regulation.
  • Learning Environment: Maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that the student feels valued and motivated.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the child’s education and development.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress and communicate regularly with relevant staff and stakeholders regarding the child’s achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Professional Development: Attend training sessions and workshops as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience: A minimum of one-year experience working with children, preferably within an educational setting. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications for Teaching and Learning Support Assistants (e.g., minimum NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent). Skills:

 

  • Proven ability to assess and deliver learning tailored to the individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and support the emotional well-being of the student.

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Collaborative and flexible, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
