Salary G2 £11.59 per hour (pay award pending)
We require hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic and motivated cleaners to join our casual cleaners’ pool. Previous experience in a cleaning role is not essential but you’ll need to be able to work independently and use initiative, while being part of a team.
In your role as a Casual Cleaner you will ensure equipment is kept clean, well maintained and in safe working order following Health & Safety requirements. We are committed to the training and development of all staff employed, so whether you are a cleaner with a little experience or would you like to be trained to be an exceptional Cleaner, we can help.
Casual Cleaners are required to cover premises across the Walsall Borough to ensure the required standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained within our schools and outlying buildings. In return, we offer excellent pay, uniforms and access to training.
You do not have to be available 5 days per week as a Casual Cleaner but it is helpful to specify the days you are available.
If you are available to work early morning between the hours of 6.00 a.m. - 8.00 a.m. or afternoons from 3.00 p.m. onwards, Casual cleaning work is always available in Schools, Libraries, Council Offices and Community Centres.
You will be required to undertake cleaning duties including mopping, polishing and vacuuming and previous experience in this type of work is desired. The successful candidate must also have an understanding of or be willing to train in the safe use of cleaning chemicals and machinery.
Work is available in the following areas:
Aldridge
Bloxwich / Brownhills
Caldmore / Chuckery
Darlaston / Delves
Pleck / Palfrey / Pelsall
Streetly
Walsall Town Centre / Walsall Wood / Willenhall
Please note: The casual cleaner position is of a non-contractual basis and work will be allocated on an “as and when” needed basis to cover annual leave, sick leave and holiday deep cleaning. Therefore, hours are not guaranteed. Should a permanent position arise, successful applicants for this post will be considered.
This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
Closing date for applications: 30th November 2024
