Job Details

Ingestre Hall, a beautiful Jacobean mansion in rural Staffordshire, is an inspirational residential setting for creative and expressive arts programmes, mostly for school groups. The centre is one of four residential education centres run by Sandwell Council to enrich the lives of children and young people.

We are seeking an experienced, motivated Senior Cook to lead our hard-working and flexible kitchen team, catering for residential groups and some weekend residential courses within their well-equipped kitchen.

A permanent position with all the advantages of working for a local authority. The package includes a local authority pension scheme, no late-night shifts, closure over Christmas and New Year, paid annual leave, and money-saving employee benefit schemes.

Contract: Permanent 

30 hours per week, weekend working in rotation with other staff

Morning shifts 7.30am start / Evening shifts finish 7pm

Information: An enhanced DBS clearance is required

You must hold L3 Food Hygiene and catering qualifications.

Required skills include:

  • Experience of catering in a commercial, education or care setting
  • An understanding of produce, menus, ingredients and dietary needs, including allergens Food ordering, food hygiene and stock control
  • Leadership of our hard-working and flexible kitchen team
  • Experience of customer care, self-motivated and flexible, with a positive manner and engaging with visiting staff and leaders
